BODYBUILDER es la última fase del proyecto “Body on paper” y es el resultado del proceso realizado en una residencia de creación en Kyoto Art Center durante los meses de Octubre y Noviembre de 2019. En esta residencia se lleva a cabo una revisión de todo el trabajo realizado hasta entonces, con la intención de seguir profundizando en el solo escénico y generar una instalación para espacios expositivos.
La instalación se presenta como un paisaje “en construcción” que consiste en diferentes piezas escultóricas hechas principalmente con cuerda y otros materiales de ensablaje, estructuras que apenas se sostienen y que casi colapsan .
La cuerda es un objeto cotidiano que se manipula y que dialoga con el cuerpo, es flexible, disponible y versátil. Tiene incontables usos y puede recorrer el espacio creando nudos y formas. La cuerda es un objeto muy antiguo que nos acompaña desde la prehistoria, está presente en la construcción y sirve para sujetar y unir cosas, desde la cercanía o la distancia. Puede marcar límites, nos advierte de peligros o nos salva de ellos. Las diferentes piezas en la instalación recuerdan partes del interior del cuerpo como el aparato circulatorio, de alguna manera nos recuerdan lo frágil y vulnerables que somos.
Bodybuilder, plantea las tensiones y los limites entre lo corpóreo y el espacio, al mismo tiempo que indaga en la potencialidad que tiene el cuerpo para activarse e interactuar con el espacio que le rodea. Las diferentes piezas sugieren un cuerpo sutil, frágil y efímero, pero al mismo tiempo versátil y lleno de posibilidades, poderoso y con capacidad de resistir y permanecer, siendo aún más poderoso que antes.
El espectador es invitado a ser parte de este paisaje, para ser visto y consolidarse como cuerpo, para reconocerse en su mirada.

Bodybuilder is the last phase of the “Body on paper” project, it is the result of the process carried out in a creation residence in Kyoto Art Center during the months of October and November 2019. In this residence a review of all the work carried out until then is carried out, with the intention of continuing to deepen the stage solo and generate an installation for exhibition spaces.
The installation is presented as a landscape “under construction” consisting of different sculptural pieces made of rope, structures that almost collapsed, but still remain standing.
The rope is an everyday object that is manipulated and that dialogues with the body, it is flexible, available and versatile. It has countless uses and runs through the space creating knots and shapes. The rope is a very old object that has accompanied us since prehistory, it is present in construction, it serves to hold and unite things, from near or far. The rope can mark limits, the interior and the exterior, it also warns us of dangers and saves us from them. The ropes in the installation remind parts of the interior of the body such as the circulatory system, somehow remind us of how fragile and vulnerable our body is.
Bodybuilder, proposes a space where the limits of the corporeal, the physical and the space are questioned. The different pieces suggest a subtle, fragile and ephemeral body, but at the same time versatile and powerful, with the capacity to resist and remain, being even stronger than before.
The viewer is invited to be part of this landscape to be seen, to think and consolidate as a body, to recognize himself in his gaze.
