BODYBUILDER es la última fase del proyecto Body on Paper y el resultado del proceso desarrollado durante una residencia de creación en el Kyoto Art Center, en los meses de octubre y noviembre de 2019. Esta residencia funcionó como un punto de inflexión: una revisión profunda de todo el trabajo realizado hasta entonces, con la intención de seguir expandiendo el solo escénico y de generar una instalación concebida para espacios expositivos.
La instalación se despliega como un paisaje en construcción: un conjunto de piezas escultóricas realizadas principalmente con cuerda y otros materiales de ensamblaje, estructuras que parecen sostenerse apenas, siempre al borde del colapso.
La cuerda, objeto cotidiano y antiguo, se convierte aquí en un material de diálogo con el cuerpo. Flexible, disponible y versátil, recorre el espacio creando tensiones, nudos y formas. Es herramienta de unión y de límite, guía que protege o advierte, línea que conecta desde la cercanía o la distancia. Las piezas recuerdan a estructuras internas del cuerpo —vasos, ramificaciones, circuitos— evocando la fragilidad y vulnerabilidad de lo humano.
Bodybuilder aborda las tensiones y los límites entre lo corporal y el espacio, explorando la capacidad del cuerpo para activarse, sostenerse e interactuar con su entorno. Cada fragmento escultórico sugiere un cuerpo sutil, frágil y efímero, pero también resistente, adaptable y lleno de posibilidades: un cuerpo que, frente al riesgo de desmoronarse, encuentra nuevas formas de permanecer.
El público es invitado a entrar en este paisaje, a ser parte de él, a ser visto y, al mismo tiempo, a habitar su propia mirada.

BODYBUILDER is the final phase of the project Body on Paper and the result of a creative residency at the Kyoto Art Center during October and November 2019. The residency became a moment of re-examination—a return to all the material developed up to that point, with the intention of deepening the solo performance and generating an installation for exhibition spaces.
The installation unfolds as a landscape under construction: a constellation of sculptural pieces made primarily of rope and other assemblage materials, precarious structures that seem barely able to hold themselves together, always on the verge of collapse.
Rope, a familiar and ancient object, becomes a material for dialogue with the body. Flexible, adaptable, endlessly versatile, it traverses space, creating knots, tensions, and forms. It is a tool of connection and construction, a line that binds or protects, that marks boundaries or signals danger. The pieces in the installation echo internal structures of the body—circulatory pathways, fragile architectures—invoking the vulnerability and porosity of the human organism.
Bodybuilder explores the tensions and thresholds between the corporeal and the spatial, probing the body’s potential to activate, transform, and be transformed by its surroundings. Each sculptural fragment suggests a body that is delicate, almost ephemeral, yet simultaneously resilient, malleable, and capable of reconfiguring itself—stronger each time it resists collapse.
The public is invited to enter this landscape, to become part of it, to be seen within it and to inhabit their own gaze.
